A comprehensive toolkit
PDP is producing a comprehensive methodology for dealing with informal areas provided for ministries, governorates and local government administrations and any other interested stakeholders. The methodology aims to help implement participatory methods of urban development and governance by providing theoretical background. It consists of internationally acknowledged higher objectives, outlines significant program fields related to dealing with informal areas, and principles overarching the activities to be carried out in urban areas.
The methodology provides clear concepts that enable participatory methods of dealing with informal areas from which tools are extracted to implement these concepts at three levels: the local level (local administrations, NGOs, etc), the regional level (governorates, service directorates, etc.) and the national level (ministries, national entities).
