Upgrading Informal Areas in Greater Cairo Governorates
“For improved socio-economic conditions, increased service delivery and enhanced environmental protection in informal areas”
On March 8th, 2016, the Participatory Development Programme in Urban Areas (PDP) successfully held the Information Session of the Third Call for Proposals (3CFP) in Pyramisa Hotel, Giza. The session was attended by around 250 participants among them were members from Giza and Qalyubeya Governorates.
The aim of the session was to present the 3CFP’s eligibility rules, application procedure, future training and frequently asked questions and answers to support interested applicants in applying for grants to upgrade the five selected targeted areas. In addition, there were several presentations by PDP technical staff on different cross-cutting topics including climate change, environmental aspects, GIS, gender and youth.
Dr.Guenther Wehenphol, Programme Coordinator provided a brief presentation on previous Grant Schemes and upgrading efforts in PDP’s targeted informal areas.
Interested potential applicants and members from the governorates asked very relevant questions on the rules of applying for grants. The deadline for applications for the 3CFP is March 31st, 2016.

The Participatory Development Programme (PDP) successfully launched its “Third Call for Proposals” (3CfP) on the 12th February 2016. The overall objective of the 3CfP was to enhance the living conditions of the poor urban population living in five deprived informal areas through improved socio-economic conditions, increased service delivery and enhanced environmental protection. Following the launch PDP organized a series of trainings for the interested applicants on “Concept Note Writing”.
PDP is organizing an information session about the Third Call for Proposals it will include information about Call for Proposals, Eligibility Rules, the application procedure, the target areas, Participatory Needs Assessment’s results and the added value elements (community participation, Gender, Environment, Innovative, integrated & sustainable projects).

The interested applicants are welcomed to attend the information session in 8th of March, 2016 in Pyramisa Hotel, 60 Giza St., behind Dokki Police station from 11:00a.m. to16:00p.m.
