The Participatory Development Programme in Urban Areas (PDP) is a development measure of Egyptian-German development cooperation, implemented by the Egyptian Ministry of Planning (MoP), and supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) and the German Development Bank (KfW). The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). PDP was initiated following the Egyptian Government’s request that Germany and Egypt work together on developing sustainable solutions for informal area management in Egypt’s growing urban areas.
